Codeweavers provides retail solutions for the automotive industry. I work individually and as part of a team to meet client requirements in an agile environment.

Placement Backend Developer at Codeweavers Ltd

Employed as part of my degree's placement year, I worked to put into practice University learned development methodologies, including extreme programming, agile and CI/CD. I achieved a 1st for this year of study, and gained significant experience working in C# and Angular whilst also seeing first hand the types of technology stacks used to power automotive retail solutions.

Research / Tech Volunteer at MyPickle

Volunteering for an online charity search engine with the aim of making support easier to find and more accessible, I worked as part of the technology team to develop applications that support volunteers. Throughout my time at MyPickle, I researched, vetted and validated charities to post on their website.

Crisis Volunteer at Shout 85258

Shout is a life-saving crisis text line that provides 24/7 support to people in a crisis. Following supervisor guidance, and an intensive 25 hour training course, I work to support texters and bring them from a state of crisis to a calmer zone.

Throughout this period I worked at two separate Coop stores, helping to maintain the general upkeep of the store, maintaining newspaper stock, handling cash, cleaning and generally assisting customers in a professional manner.

Throughout my time in COMPSOC, I planned and orchestrated events for all Computer Science students at The University of Liverpool, including building relationships with local and national companies within the technology industry. Most notably, I hosted the societies 2023 end of year ball which was a huge success, lead the planning of a 100+ attendee collaboration between the Universities five largest societies, and also welcomed a talk from an innovative local MedTech company to talk about entrepreneurship and how technology can be used to enhance medicine.

As a peer mentor I provided support and guidance for first year students navigating the challenges of University life, helping them with both academic and personal challenges of life in a new city, and for some people, life in a new country.

Interests

Programming

I am continuously exploring the various ways that programming can solve problems, from fun projects, to exploring how mundane tasks can be automated.

Sports

I don't like typical sports, but I love an adventure. On holidays I love to Ski, and have also enjoyed Scuba Diving in the past. More recently you will find me playing badminton, and also climbing walls at my local rock climbing centre.

Volunteering

Whilst finding the balance between my new work life and volunteering has been challenging, I'm keen to help organisations that work tirelessly to support others.

Learning

I am a forever passionate about learning new things, and exploring new challenges. Currently I am interested in expanding my knowledge of frontend design, in particular 3D animation with ThreeJS.
